Our Investment DB Business Unit is as a key component of our consulting services and helps firmly establish us as a UK market leader. We currently advise on over ~£200 billion of assets for a diverse client base, providing full investment consulting services to DB pension trustees and sponsors across a wide variety of business and industry sectors, as well as local government pension schemes (LGPS) and other public sector clients.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Investment Analyst to join this Business Unit.

What will your role look like?
You will play a key role in supporting the work of the Investment Business Unit and providing practical support to our client facing consultants.

You will assist with monitoring investment performance and drafting advice for clients on a variety of topics including investment strategy, structure, investment markets, risk management, asset managers, responsible investment, and governance.

Though this is a varied role, your key tasks will include:

  • Drafting standard reports and advice for review by consultants on a range of investment issues
  • Working with our data and reporting specialists to deliver performance analysis of portfolios and the production of our high quality, bespoke monitoring reports
  • Undertaking analysis for a number of different projects – including investment strategy reviews, investment structure reviews and selection of investment managers
  • Acting as the day-to-day point of contact for clients and other key stakeholders such as actuaries, investment managers and administrators
  • Taking responsibility for checking the work of more junior members of the team
  • Supporting the management of business-as-usual workflows across our client teams (i.e., managing action lists, issuing papers, liaising with internal colleagues across a variety of teams)
  • Undertaking activities designed to build and enhance the Firm’s profile through networking, contributing to blogs and articles, and supporting new business efforts via drafting responses to new business tenders
     

To enjoy and succeed in this role, you will have:

  • Relevant experience gained in a similar role – investment consultancy, fund management or another relevant investment sector
  • Been educated to at least under graduate degree level, and will ideally have started studying towards either an Actuarial or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) qualification
  • An awareness of the major asset classes used in UK pension scheme strategies and of the key topical matters arising within the UK DB pensions market
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • A flexible, pro-active, and innovative approach to problem-solving
  • An enthusiasm for working across a range of diverse teams, while also being able to work on your own initiative
  • The ability to work in a way that is aligned to our four core values of being friendly, partnering, straightforward and confident
  • Strong organisational skills and able to multi-task First class IT skills (in particular the suite of Microsoft Office tools)
