This is a Temporary, Full Time vacancy that will close in {x} days at {xx:xx} BST.

We are looking for an experienced senior marketing professional to join our busy team as Marketing Lead. The position will be to support the Head of Marketing in making sure the team are delivering against agreed marketing strategy and plans to deliver against business objectives. Providing guidance and support to the team, overseeing the delivery of plans and multi-channel marketing campaigns, as well as ensuring operational efficiency across the team, will be key responsibilities within the role. 

Each candidate will be responsible for delivering the marketing strategies for our firm’s overall brand and Public Sector market, in addition to people management responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Overall responsibility for the development and delivery of multi-channel marketing plans to promote the firm’s Strategic Imperatives (DEI, CSR and Digital), employer brand, and Public Sector market, as well as operational responsibilities for the wider team.
  • Ensure the marketing plans are fully integrated across all marketing channels and delivered in support of the business’s objectives.
  • People management responsibilities for two individuals, including day-to-day line management and support as well as coaching, mentoring and career development.
  • Work closely with marketing leadership team and the wider business to ensure that the flow of work is carefully managed and properly resourced to maintain the highest standards of work and service.
  • Work closely with the Client Data & Insights Team to produce regular performance reports, analysis and commentary on key metrics and KPIs, and make recommendations on how to enhance our approach.
  • Ensure operational effectiveness across the team; processes and procedures being followed, excellent planning, delivery and follow through of all campaigns and activities, and reporting requirements are being met.
  • Build and maintain strong links with all business areas within the firm to promote, champion and help to deliver cross team/practice solutions, with a particular focus on effective working across the wider Commercial Group.
  • Support Head of Marketing in the development and preparation of the marketing plan and budget, in conjunction with the Commercial Group leadership team.
  • Day to day responsibility for managing the allocated marketing budget to ensure no over- or under-spend, seeking cost efficiencies where appropriate.
  • Monitor performance against objectives and implement changes as required to achieve those objectives.
  • Use creative skills to help develop compelling messaging and campaigns that reflect our brand and Purpose and differentiate us in the market.
  • Keep up to date with latest marketing trends to identify opportunities for continuous improvement across the team and encourage best practice.

Skills/Experience/Knowledge

  • Experience of operating successfully in a previous role at a suitably senior level.
  • Significant marketing and/or communications experience, gained in agency or in-house environment.
  • Financial and/or professional services sector experience a must, ideally within the pensions industry.
  • An analytical and strategic mindset, with the passion and drive to take real ownership.
  • An ability to see the big picture and anticipate requirements - but can also be ‘hands on’.
  • Proven leadership and influencing skills and able to communicate at all levels.
  • Capacity to work with cross functional teams and take overall responsibility for delivery of targets for multi-channel marketing plans.
  • Able to deal with ambiguity and rapid change.
  • Strong influencing skills and ability to positively and sensitively work with senior stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders with varying objectives.
  • Strong team leadership and management experience.
  • Experienced in managing budgets and people.
  • Experience of using various marketing technologies and systems, including marketing automation, CRM systems and CMS.
